U.S. Investment in Hungary
The United States is among Hungary's top ten foreign investors, with cumulative U.S. direct investment exceeding $9 billion. More than 600 American companies operate subsidiaries in Hungary, many drawn by the country's skilled workforce, EU market access, and competitive costs. Major U.S. investors include GE, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Ford, General Motors, and many others across virtually every sector of the economy.
Bilateral Framework
Trade and investment relations are governed by a bilateral investment treaty and facilitated through the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary (AmCham), which is one of the most active business advocacy organisations in the country.
